Track Of The Day: The Alchemist – ‘The G Code’

The G Code, featuring Action Bronson, OFWGTKA’s Domo Genesis and Blu is set over sharp, funky piano loop that creates the cleanest sound. Effortlessy atmospheric, Alchemist is just doing what he does best.

The G Code is the latest track the Alchemist has released from ‘The Good Book’ – a thematic concept album with which he and Budgie composed a CD each, ‘Al and Budgie’s two separate, mostly instrumental, albums are built exclusively from gospel samples’.

Favourite line: ‘Look at how you wear success, what can any problem do to you’

NEWS: Did the Pixies steal Arcade Fire’s Missing Paper Mache head?

GUILTY ! It seems the Pixies have been caught red handed…. with Arcade Fire’s missing paper mache head!

Despite the official annoucement of their album ‘Indie Cindy’ which compiles EP-1, EP-2 AND the newly (today) released EP-3, the Pixies have  also debuted a video for Snakes (a track off of EP-2) which features characters with paper mache heads. Very sad, haunting paper mache heads.

See it here:

Somebody should tell them that Arcade Fire have promised they’re not angry, they just want it back.

TRACK OF THE DAY: Movement – ‘5:57’

Movement are a trio from Sydney, Australia who have been producing nighttime friendly, smooth sounds since 2011. Signed to Modular label, the band have announced their self titled EP  will be released on the 28th April this year.

‘ 5:57’ is assumed to be from the EP mentioned and MW can only describe this as having seductive twisty beats that are so perfectly produced it is especially easy to get lost in this song – and the couple of others they have to their name for that matter.

Lykke Li – ‘No Rest For The Wicked’

Lykke Li – No rest for the wicked

Reveal number two of the upcoming album  ‘I Never Learn’ (due May 5),’No Rest For The Wicked’ is just as heavy on the heart as ‘Love Me Like I’m Made Of Stone’ all be it slightly more ‘pop’. The track has chilling piano inserts that support this old sounding delight of a song.

Swedish Li is every bit as beautiful as before and ‘No Rest For The Wicked’ is said to be amongst an album full of other gripping power ballads.

Maybe note to not listen to the album in it’s entirety come May if one is not feeling too emotionally stable.
